About this Workshop

Every parent has heard 'AI is the future' — on the news, from relatives, from the school WhatsApp group. But nobody has sat you down and shown you, on your own phone, exactly what to open and what to tap. Most homes end up in one of two places: total ban, or total confusion. Neither works. This workshop gives you the third option — informed, hands-on control. You don't need to learn coding. You need 5 apps, used right, and one evening to set them up. By the end of 90 minutes, your family calendar is live, your grocery routine is automated, and you've had your first real conversation with your child about what they want to become — using a tool built for exactly that.

Requirements

Why This, Why Now

A 10-minute grounding in what's actually changed for Indian families in the last two years, and why “just say no to AI” is no longer a workable strategy for most households.

2

Setting Up Your Family Calendar

Live, on-screen setup of a shared Google Calendar. You'll add your child's school term dates, one recurring activity, and one upcoming deadline — right there in the room — so you leave with it already running, not just knowing how.

3

AI for Independent Study

Three apps demonstrated live, each solving a different problem: doubt-clearing without a tuition centre, practice questions that adapt to your child's level, and a way to check if your child is actually understanding a topic — not just finishing the homework.

4

Safe & Responsible AI Use

What age-appropriate AI use looks like at different stages, how to set boundaries without turning it into a fight, and the specific settings/parental controls worth knowing on the apps your child already uses.

5

The Weekly Grocery Reset

A live demo of building a repeatable grocery list using an AI shopping assistant, and connecting it to a delivery app — so the Tuesday “what do we need” conversation stops happening every single week.

6

Opening the Career Conversation

Using a free, government-backed AI career guidance tool built for Indian students (Class 6-12), you'll run a short sample assessment live and learn how to use the results as a conversation starter — not a verdict.

7

AI for Family Health

Every parent has 11 PM'd a fever into Google and ended up more panicked than informed. This lesson introduces a free AI symptom-checker you can use for your child before deciding whether it's a home-remedy night or a doctor visit — plus how to connect that assessment straight into a teleconsultation if needed, so a 9 PM worry doesn't automatically mean a 10 PM ER trip.
